Now if the performance of the replacement trumps that of the Intel, then go for it. In this case it just seems that you need the direct drivers for the module rather than a replacement. As techs, we love to blame everything but the obvious at times. ![]() The drivers they have released for 7 should fix the problem. The compatibility issue is that Intel wrote the drivers for 8 but did not allow for the backwards compatibility with 7. The drivers are written specifically for the OS and not the module themselves. ![]() I am not a fan of Win 8, and have even down graded laptops and found the same to be true when going from 8 to 7. ![]() I stopped the updates to the new Win 8 drivers for the module and it works just fine. My Qualcomm Atheros drivers worked just fine under Windows 7, but I had to rollback the drivers for Win 8. Doc, I am using Win 8 on a trial basis and I have found, it is not necessarily the OS that is the problem.
